Always seems to happen when I have something suitable to say.

I completely agree with you when it comes to animal characters. How can one say no to the ears, tails, paws, and hackles that an animal artistically presents. It not only adds a challenge, but it also opens up, as you mentioned, a completely other dimension of communication.

I also have to agree with the proportion issue. What is the point of drawing an animal character if it is more human than animal? There is a part of my mind that twitches when I see an anthro weirdly proportioned towards the human side. I find it odd how some tv shows like Tale Spin or Swat Kats (no offense) can do such a good job at translating their male characters…and then go odd whenever there’s a female characters. As you say, there are much more subtle ways to portray gender in drawing anthro characters.

To be honest, that’s what I’ve respected most about your drawing over the last few years. You have a way of drawing in general that makes everything seems so suitable to be animated. And the way you draw anthros and animals just takes the bucket. You have an exceptional way of mixing a dash of human attributes over a species-loyal frame.

So, it looks like you both have a fun story going forth here, and can’t wait to see where it goes. No matter how long it takes, I can judge that it will be suitably worth it.George H.https://www.blogger.com/profile/03578148451943264541noreply@blogger.com
